Healthy (ish) Fall Snacks To Buy From Trader Joe’s

Buying healthy food can be hard. There is this giant misconception that in order to eat healthily you have to spend way more money. However, the cost that you are typically spending with healthier foods is usually in a currency you least expect, and probably dread to hear…. time.

Working in the field of nutrition education, I’ve come across something interesting when it comes to eating healthy and purchasing more nutritious foods. There are all different types and forms and to be honest, everything is “healthy” in moderation. You can buy whole foods and learn to prepare them to fit your plate or you can buy frozen foods that have been flash-frozen during its nutritional peak. Either way, you look at it, find nutritious foods that are good for YOUR body is important for your overall well being just as finding foods && recipes that fit within your time constraints.

However, after shopping at trader joes and it’s not so aesthetically pleasing but ultimately amazing counterpart Aldi. I have found some of the best healthy fall food to buy at trader joes that won’t break the bank and will make the entire household [even if it’s just yourself], very very happy.

We are going with fall foods and snacks because who isn’t in the mood to get a piece of fall even if it isn’t cool outside yet.

Here is a healthy trader’s joe haul, as told by dom.

Fall Tortilla Chips

While the tortilla chips themselves are a bit on the thicker side they are the perfect chip for dips and sauces. Also, they make for the perfect fall snack because of their leaf shapes. In moderation of course tortilla chips are a great go-to chip to have.

Omega Trek Mix Trail Mix

The Omega Trek Mix Dried Cranberry and Roasted Nut Blend is by far the best trail mix I have ever had. It is a tasty and filling snack that satisfies your cravings with not even a full cup of the mix. If you like sweet and salty without the candy then this is something you should definitely try.

Caramel Apple Granola

This is some really good tasting granola. One of my favorite quick and easy breakfasts is almond milk yogurt with granola and berries. Changing the granola a bit to switch up the flavor profile is a great way to spice up your fall mornings. It is sweet and crunchy and just happiness in your mouth.

Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Seed Bark

If we learned anything from the internet, it is that dark chocolate in it’s recommended amounts are really good for you. Also a great way to satisfy a sweet tooth craving. I picked these bad boys up a couple of weeks ago and have been in complete love with them. I usually have 1-2 pieces of bark depending on the cracked size and eat it. My coaches would always tell us to have dark chocolate as our late-night study snack. The reason behind it was because it increases the endorphins in your body and the blood flow to your brain. Making you happier and more productive. Glad they did because this pumpkin seed bark is the best thing in the world.

The fall has a ton of snacks and recipes that really give you the entire fall aesthetic. I found that just the act of romanticizing a season and doing things that are specific to that season can really change your mood and create for some fun and amazing days. When thinking about our nutrition and our health journeys seasonal snacks are also a great way to switch up from your daily routine and create additional motivation to eat foods that make your body happy.

It’s funny because when you begin your healthy eating journey you feel like you can only eat the same things all the time. No one really explains that there is so much variety that should be explored and enjoyed.

So remember to be kind to yourself. Enjoy your seasons, enjoy the snacks that make you happy, and have the most fun exploring different grocery stores and snacks at places like Trader joes.

Happy snacking,

Domonique
