Valentine’s Day is not just about romantic love. It’s also about enjoying, doing, and eating the things you love as well!
For me, whether I am in a relationship or not, I like to do something for myself. Sometimes, that could be watching my favorite Disney movie, binge-watching my favorite TV shows, or making a fun new dessert that I found on the internet.
So I decided this Valentine’s Day to indulge in some healthy self-love and make my favorite pink smoothie bowl to kick off this v-day weekend.
Recipe (go based on how big you want your bowl and blender size)
– 1 Banana
– 1/2 Pear chopped
– 1/4 raspberries
– 1/4 strawberries
– 1/8 pineapple ( I used frozen)
– 1/8 peach (I used frozen)
Toppings (whatever you want to be honest)
– Sliced Pears (the other half)
– 8 Blackberries
– 9 raspberries
– 1 strawberry
How I Made it:
– What I did for this bowl was I cut up my pears first. First in half and then i sliced one thinly to top the bowl and the other ones I cut to be blended
– Then, I cut up some strawberries and set them aside to be added later.
– I got out my Nutri-bullet blender and added in a banana that a broke in half.
– I then added in the pears and strawberries first and then a couple of raspberries.
– Then added in my frozen fruit since they are easier to smush down when it starts to fill to the top.
– After that, I blended my mix. Stopping the blend, occasionally to shake up the fruit for a better mixture.
– Once that was done, I poured my fruit smoothie blend into a nice bowl and topped it with my favorite things.
– Pro Tip: If you don’t want it to be as sweet try taking out the banana or replacing the raspberries with duller fruit.
Insight into Dom’s Head:
Smoothie Bowls are probably my favorite thing in the world. I typically drink green smoothies and load it up with spinach or kale to get in my veggie intake for the morning. However, whenever I am feeling a sweet craving, typically in the afternoon making a smoothie bowl is by far the fast and in some cases healthiest way for me to satisfy my craving.
This smoothie bowl is a fruit explosion! We got strawberries and raspberries, topped with blackberries. The actual smoothie itself is full of my favorite fruits. Pears, banana, strawberries, raspberries, peaches pineapple. I’m telling you this is a fruit EXTRAVAGANZA.
Like I said early, Valentine’s Day to me isn’t all about romance towards another individual. I remember getting caught up in that and then Valentine’s day wasn’t fun if I didn’t have a significant other. I decided after a bit of time not liking this holiday when I was alone or my significant other was far away, that I would do something for myself. So each Valentine’s day I make, do, create, something that truly makes my heart happy.
I believe we owe it to ourselves to make ourselves happy and loved.
I hope this smoothie brings a smile to your face and makes your tummy + heart happy just like it does for me<3
Tell me what Valentine’s Day means to you.
