Hello Everyone, Domonique here with an exciting new update! I have decided that outside of being an athlete and health care worker I would also dabble in the culinary world!
From this day forward, please call me chef Domonique!
For my first recipe, I tried to replicate, I present to you the Frappe… or as most of the population has been referring to it as Whipped Coffee.
Whipped Coffee has taken the media by storm for its aesthetically pleasing appearance and process. So of course as an avid coffee drinker and recently acclaimed chef, I had to try it. –>
Step by step below – BIG RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM
Let me just say before we get into the recipe that It IS FANTASTIC!
I probably will not be buying coffee from Dunkin for a while… and THAT is SAYING A LOT!
I kid you not it is that tasty and has satisfied my ice coffee craving!!!!
So without further ado, Chef Domonique will enlighten you on how to create this amazing coffee staple.
First This is what you are going to need:
- Instant coffee
- Sugar
- Hot water
- Milk
- Ice
- Measure cup
- Whisk or electric mixer (if you don’t have those you can whisk with a fork)
- Mixing Bowl
- Optional – cinnamon
- Optional – Vanilla Extract
Now its time to make the coffee!!!
First things first, all my measurements are for 1 serving so you will have to do some simple multiplication in order to get the servings you need.
What you will want to do is grab your mixing bowl and place 2 tablespoons of instant coffee in your bowl. I used regular maxwell instant coffee. I am sure that any instant coffee will work for this recipe.
Next up you will add 2 tablespoons of sugar to your instant coffee dry mix followed by two tablespoons of hot water.
My boyfriend and I boiled hot water, but honestly, that’s bougie and he was being extra. You can easily just heat up your water in the microwave and call it a day.
After that comes the fun part! You can take your whisk or electric whisk and start mixing – and mixing – and mixing. You will know when to stop when your mix becomes a light light brown color and is fluffy and light. (CLICK THROUGH TO SEE WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE)
I found that using an electric mixer was a lot easier and less tasking than using a hand whisk. Totally up to you, but the easier the better to be honest.
Once your mix is all light and airy, you are going take your cup and fill it up with milk and ice!
Then dollop your mix on top of your milk and ice and then for a little extra pizzaz you can lightly sprinkle cinnamon to the top of the coffee.
Now you have whipped coffee! But I must warn you to MIX the drink before drinking it. If you don’t you’ll just be drinking milk with whipped toppings! So take your photo and then mix that bad boy up!
Well, I hope you enjoyed this fun recipe and I will come back next time with something really fun and cool.
